The Searle Scholars program supports research of outstanding individuals who have recently begun their first appointment at the Assistant Professor level as part of a tenure track appointment. Grants are for a three year period for a total of $300,000/ $100,000 each year.
The Office of the Vice Provost for Research is facilitating the internal application process for applicants who hold a primary appointment at a school on the Cambridge Campus of Harvard University, or the Harvard Chan School of Public Health.
Applicants from Harvard Medical School must apply through the process facilitated by HMS's
Foundation Funds Program.
Description:

Applicants to the Searle Scholars Program will be expected to be pursuing independent research careers in:
Biochemistry
Cell Biology
Genetics
Immunology
Neuroscience
Pharmacology
...and related areas in chemistry, medicine, and the biological sciences.
This program does not ordinarily support purely clinical research, but has supported research programs that include both clinical and basic components.
Application Information:
Eligible applicants are asked to submit the following (this information will appear again within the electronic application)
A proposal of not more than two (2) pages, 10 point font minimum, related graphics and/or references may be placed on consecutive blank pages after the written proposal
A current CV,
A letter of recommendation from a Department Chair or Center Director
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must be recently appointed Assistant Professors (appointed on, or after, May 1, 2022) in the fields of biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, immunology, neuroscience, pharmacology and related areas in chemistry, medicine and the biological sciences

This competition is enabled for Proxy applicants. Before beginning an application, Proxies will be asked to locate their Principal Investigator in HUFP. If your PI is not registered in HUFP, please ask them to create their profile using their HarvardKey.
Proxies should never "Add User" in HUFP.
