Description: The George and Marie Vergottis Foundation Research Fellowship was established at Harvard Medical School to provide financial assistance for Greek national postdoctoral fellows pursuing basic biomedical research. (Greek-Cypriots are not eligible to apply)

Amount of Support: $50,000 over one year with the possibility of a second year of funding. Funds may be used for salary support or materials and supplies.  This award may not be used for a clinical fellowship.

Description: The George and Marie Vergottis Foundation Research Fellowship was established at Harvard Medical School to provide financial assistance for Greek national postdoctoral fellows pursuing basic biomedical research.

Eligibility Criteria:

Eligible candidates:

1.     Received a Ph.D. between July 1, 2017 and July 1, 2021.

2.     Have committed and matching HMS sponsorship from either a quad based or HMS affiliated hospital faculty member/department.

3.     Must be a Greek national.

 

Review Criteria:

Additional Information, Related Websites, and Proxy Instructions:

Postdoctoral fellows must be affiliated with a laboratory located either on the HMS quad or at HMS affiliated hospitals in order to apply.  Applications will only be accepted through the HMS Foundation Funds. 

Funds will be paid to the fellows department as reimbursement for funds expended, up to $50,000.  
 
No amount of this funding may be used for institutional overhead.
