Advancing Digitization of Biodiversity Collections (ADBC)/ NSF 13-569
2 to 4 years
National Science Foundation
Nominations Available to Institution :
There are two tracts to choose from when applying to this opportunity:
Thematic Collections Networks (TCN)
Partner to Existing Networks (PEN)
Harvard is limited to submitting one (1) TCN proposal.
The Office of the Vice Provost for Research will facilitate the internal process to select an application for submission to the NSF.
There are no limits to how many PEN proposals may be submitted
Applicants interested in submitting a PEN proposal do not need to coordinate their submission with the Office of the VPR.
Key Features of the FOA for TCN Proposals:
Proposals should be for two (2) to four (4) years
Successfully awarded TCNs will partner with iDigBio, participate in iDigBio activities and conform to the standards and practices set through the coordinating groups of iDigBio.
Proposals that address the goals of specimen digitization through innovative plans, strong collaborations among large and small institutions, and mechanisms to build upon existing digitization projects are strongly encouraged.
Proposals that increase efficiency and numbers of specimens digitized will have a stronger priority for funding (e.g. by reducing the time and cost per specimen, or by developing new workflows).
In the role of PI or Co-PI an investigator may only submit one proposal
It is expected that TCN projects will be collaborative efforts among several institutions.
Interested and eligible candidates from Harvard will be asked to submit the following as part of the internal competition process:
A three (3) page proposal outlining a response to the TCN track of ADBC
CV(s) of the PI and Co-PI if appropriate.
CV(s) of PIs at collaborating institutions
