Brief Description:

The Eisenhower Institute seeks to support study and education dealing with the role of government in a free society, citizen public service, public policy, and improved understanding of America's role in world affairs. Harvard University, as one institution, may nominate two proposals for this opportunity. The Office of the Vice Provost for Research is facilitating the selection process to identify and select the final two applicants.

Description:

The Eisenhower Institute seeks to support study and education dealing with the role of government in a free society, citizen public service, public policy, and improved understanding of America's role in world affairs. Harvard University, as one institution, may nominate two proposals for this opportunity. The Office of the Vice Provost for Research is facilitating the selection process to identify and select the final two applicants.

Application Information:

Applicants are asked to submit the following (this information will appear again on the applicant's dashboard)
  • A recent CV (no preferred format)
  • A statement of no more than one page (10 pt. font minimum) describing the nature and scope of the dissertation, including a brief time table for its completion
  • A writing sample of 10-15 pages, preferably on a topic related to the dissertation
  • One letter of recommendation from the applicant's doctoral advisor. Please note that this letter is confidential and should not be viewed by the applicant

Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants should be at an advanced stage of their doctoral candidacies, preferably at the point of preparing their dissertations. The institute will consider, on written university recommendation in unique circumstances, applications of less advanced graduate students or of persons who have recently earned their doctorates and wish to pursue studies in the institute's field of interest.
