Brief Description:
The Rita Allen Foundation Scholars Program funds basic biomedical research in the fields of cancer, immunology and neuroscience. Applicants should be Assistant Professors within the the first three years of their appointment.
The T.H.Chan School of Public Health and the schools of Harvard's Cambridge campus may submit a single nomination for consideration. The Office of the Vice Provost for Research is facilitating the internal call and selection process to identify a proposal for nomination.

Rita Allen Foundation Scholar grant funds may only be used for direct project expenses, including up to 50% of the Scholar's compensation. No grant funds may be used to support the grant recipient's overhead or other administrative (indirect) expenses.
Application Information:
Applicants are asked to submit the following (this information will appear again on the applicant's dashboard):
A proposal/narrative plan of work of no more than two pages, 10 point font minimum, including responses to the following:
Description of how a Rita Allen Foundation Scholars Award would enable the candidate to pursue new ideas and take strategic risks (1 paragraph)
Explanation of how this proposal differs from or relates to the candidate's other support projects (1 paragraph)
A third page may be used for related graphics and/or references
A current CV (no preferred format) that includes details of current or pending support from other funding sources
A letter of nomination from a Department Chair or Center Director
