Brief Description:

Partnerships for Innovation: Building Innovation Capacity support academe-industry partnerships led by an interdisciplinary academic research team in collaboration with at least one industry partner in order to carry out research to advance, adapt and integrate technology(ies) into a specified, human-centered smart service system.
Harvard University is limited to submitting two proposals for this opportunity. The sponsor requires an LOI prior to proposal submission.
The Office of the Vice Provost for Research is facilitating an internal process in order to identify and nominate proposals to the NSF for this opportunity.

Project synopsis, three pages max, 10 pt. font minimum, graphics and references, if applicable, should be included at the conclusion of the written work. 
Please convey the important aspects of the project, such as information about the areas of expertise that comprise the three required components of this project: 1) engineered service system design and integration; 2) computing, sensing, and information technologies; 3) human factors, behavioral sciences, and cognitive engineering

CV of the PI and Co-PI, if applicable

Eligibility Criteria:

  • One proposal per PI or Co-PI
  • A qualifying industrial partner must be based in the United States and have commercial revenues that include sales, service, or licensing. Grants and government contracts may contribute to its revenues by may not constitute the entirety of its revenues
