Brief Description:
The Searle Scholars program supports research of outstanding individuals who have recently begun their appointment at the Assistant Professor level, and whose appointment is their first tenture-track position at Harvard University. The Office of the Vice Provost for Research anticipates that for the 2017 Searle Scholars opportunity the Schools of Harvard Cambridge Campus and the T. H. Chan School of Public Health will be eligible to put forward two nominations to the Searle Foundation.

Applicants to The Searle Scholars Program will be expected to be pursuing independent research careers in biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, immunology, neuroscience, pharmacology, and related areas in chemistry, medicine, and the biological sciences. The program does not ordinarily support purely clinical research but has supported research programs that include both clinical and basic components

Applicants are asked to submit (the following information will be repeated within the Applicant's Dashboard)
A proposal of not more than two (2) pages (related graphics and/or references may appear on consecutive blank pages after the written proposal)
A current CV
A letter of recommendation from a Department Chair or Center Director
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must be recently appointed Assistant Professors (appointed on, or after, July 1, 2015) in the fields of biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, immunology, neuroscience, pharmacology, and related areas in chemistry, medicine and the biological sciences
