Brief Description:

The goal of the software Infrastructure Sustained Innovation (SI2) program is a to create a software ecosystem that scales from individual or small group of software innovators to large hubs of software excellence. There are three classes of awards under the SI2 program. NSF 15-553 is focused only on the Scientific Software Innovation Institutes (S2I2) class of awards. Under this heading there are two award subclasses: Conceptualization Awards (typically one year) and Implementation Awards (up to five years) (there are a further 2 subcategories that fall under Implementation). Harvard University, as one institution, may submit one proposal in each of the three areas available through this opportunity. The office of the Vice Provost for Research will facilitate an internal process in order to select proposals to go forward for consideration to the NSF.

  • A three page (max) summary response to the solicitation. Please identify which of the three proposal areas the summary applies to (Conceptualization, Implementation/CMRSI or Implementation/SGSI). Any associated graphics and/or references should be placed on blank pages that appear after the written summary

  • Current CV(s) of proposed PI(s)
