The 2022 Innovators in Science Award recognizes a promising Early-Career Scientist's and an outstanding Senior Scientist's contributions to exceptional research of Gastroetrology

Harvard University, as a single institution, is limited to putting forward one nominee in each of the two categories mentioned above The Office of the Vice Provost for Research is facilitating the internal application and review process for applicants who hold a primary affiliation at school located on the Harvard campus

Applicants who intend to apply to the 2022 Innovators in Science Award are asked to share their interest with the Research Administration office at the school where they hold a primary appointment A list of contacts by school is available here


Application Information:

The following information will appear again within the electronic application:

  • CV, limited to four (4)pages Please format the CV following Takeda Pharmaceutical's template (and provided within the electronic application)
  • Research Summary: 1,000 words maximum
  • Rational for Nomination: (200 words): The Rationale must be written by someone other than the applicant The Rationale will be uploaded as part of the final application package, and is separate from the Letter of Support (not required at this stage) Applicants may choose to ask prospective letter writers to supply this Rationale, or may choose to ask another party Candidates need not supply a Letter of Support for the internal competition process
  • For Early Career Scientist applicants only: Future Research Plan, 500 words maximum


Eligibility Criteria:

Early Career Scientist Eligibility
Since gaining their doctorate degree or equivalent applicants must be engaged in active research for ten (10)years or less, as of May 27, 2011

Senior Scientist Eligibility
Since gaining their doctorate degree or equivalent applicants must be engaged in research for ten (10) years or more, as of May 27, 2011


Additional Information, Related Websites, and Proxy Instructions:

This competition is enabled for Proxy applicants. Before beginning an application, Proxies will be asked to locate their Principal Investigator in HUFP. If your PI is not registered in HUFP, please ask them to create their profile using their HarvardKEY. Proxies should never "Add User" in HUFP.
