Brief Description:

The NIH S10 opportunities, Shared Instrumentation Grant, SIG, PAR22-080 and High End Instrumentation Grant, HEI, PAR-22-079, while not LSOs, will not accept applications that overlap in the equipment proposed.
The Office of the Vice Provost for Research is facilitating a centralized application process to identify proposal overlap in a timely manner.

The NIH S10 Shared Instrumentation opportunity, while not an LSO, will not accept applications that overlap in regards to the equipment proposed.

The Office of the Vice Provost for Research is facilitating a centralized application process to identify any instance of proposal overlap in a timely manner.
  • Funding for the Shared Instrumentation Grant, SIG, ranges from $50,000 to $600,000
  • Funding for the High End Instrumentation Grant, HEI, ranges from $600,001 to $2,000,000
All applications submitted to the S10 opportunity will be shared with the Research Development department at the school where the PI(s) hold a primary appointment. A list of contacts by school is available here.


Application Information:

Applicants will be asked to answer/upload the following:
  • Identify which S10 program the proposal is in response to (SIG or HEI)
  • Indicate if the proposal is new or re-submission
  • Provide the name of the instrument being proposed
  • Provide a brief description of the instrument being proposed. A one paragraph response is welcome
  • Total amount of funding requested
  • If awarded, where will the instrument be located?
  • What "Major User Group(s)" at the university will use the instrument?

This competition is enabled for Proxy Applicants. Before beginning an application, Proxies will be asked to locate their Principal Investigator in HUFP If your PI is not registered in HUFP, please ask them to create their profile using their HarvardKEY. Proxies should never "Add User" in HUFP.
