Brief Description:

The Greenwall Faculty Scholars Program in Bioethics is a career development award to enable junior faculty members to carry out innovative bioethics research.  Each year three Greenwall Faculty Scholars are selected to receive 50 percent salary support for three years to enable them to develop their research program.

The Greenwall Foundation Faculty Scholars Program in bioethics provides support for assistant or associate faculty members holding at least a 60% appointment at a university or non profit research institute in the U.S. and whose research has the potential to impact public policy, biomedical research, or clinical practice in the field of bioethics. The award supports 50% of a scholars salary plus benefits for three years, up to the NIH salary cap, with 10% institutional costs for the salary and benefits. In addition, $5,000 is provided each year for limited project support and travel (no indirect costs are provided for these items). Harvard, as one institution, is limited to nominating two (2) applicants for this opportunity. The Greenwall Foundation will make no more than one award per institution in each Faculty Scholars grant cycle.

Description:

The Greenwall Foundation Faculty Scholars Program places a priority on  applications that address innovative and emerging topics and have the potential to impact public policy, biomedical research or clinical practice in the area of bioethics. If awarded, scholars and alumni/ae attend twice yearly meetings where they present their work in progress, receive feedback and mentoring from the Faculty Scholars Program Committee and other scholars, and have the opportunity to develop collaborations with other researchers. Further information about the Greenwall Foundation and the history of the Faculty Scholars program may be found here (please note that this link will take you out of the Harvard University Funding Portal site).
