Brief Description:

The mission of the Breast Cancer Alliance is to improve survival rates and quality of life for those impacted by breast cancer through better prevention, early detection, treatment and cure.

This grant is meant for those at an early stage in their research career to help provide seed funding for the research required to apply for larger, longer term grants, often with the NIH. (BCA creates the critical bridge between novel research and the opportunity to generate preliminary results so that researchers can move on to secure federal funding.)

The research project must be directly related to the field of breast cancer. Areas of relevant research may include but are not limited to: diagnosis, etiology, immunology, genetics, therapies, prevention and clinical studies.

Clinical doctors and research scientists with a primary focus in breast cancer-and who, following completion of their training, will not have held a faculty position for more than four years at the start date of the grant-are invited to apply.
This grant is intended to help advance the careers of young researchers who do not yet have their own major grant support but who design and conduct their own independent research projects.
